Vadodara, September 2026: The Don Bosco Development Society organized Janamastami celebrations on 4th September 2026 under the aegis of Non-Formal Elementary Education project supported by United Baroda Foundation. A total of 160 children participated in this event.
As part of the Janmashtami celebration, a special activity was organized for the children attending the education classes on 4 September 2026. The teacher introduced the children to Lord Krishna and the significance of Janmashtami, helping them understand the importance of the festival and its connection with Indian culture and traditions.
The children participated enthusiastically in a drawing and colouring activity, where they drew and coloured traditional symbols associated with Lord Krishna, such as the matki (earthen pot) and bansuri (flute). Some children also dressed up as Radha and Krishna, adding colour and joy to the celebration.
The teacher guided and supported the children throughout the activity. The children participated happily and enjoyed the festive atmosphere. The activity not only provided them with an opportunity to celebrate Janmashtami but also helped develop their creativity and artistic skills while increasing their awareness of Indian culture and traditions.
Overall, the Janmashtami celebration was a joyful and meaningful experience for the children, combining learning, creativity and celebration.
