Vadodara, September 2026: The Don Bosco Development Society organized a staff meeting on 2nd September 2026 under the aegis of Non-Formal Elementary Education project supported by United Baroda Foundation. All the project staff members attended the meeting.
During September, the children will revise all previously learned signs. They will be introduced to the Gujarati letters દ (D) and સ (S). The children will also learn to recognize and write numbers 1 to 5. To strengthen number recognition, they will participate in match-the-following and number-identification activities.
A Group: The A Group will learn આ (Aa) sound words and sentences. The teacher will provide simple words, and the children will use them to form sentences, such as રમત તો રમત રમ and જમ તો સરસ જમ. In mathematics, children will work with numbers 1 to 100, with a focus on identifying the numbers that come before and after a given number. An assessment will be conducted at the end of the month to check their understanding.
B Group: The B Group will be introduced to ઓ (O) sound words and sentences and will revise previously learned A and Aa sound words. In mathematics, children will practice arranging numbers 1 to 100 in ascending order and 1 to 50 in descending order.
C Group: Building on the successful learning routine followed during the previous two months, the C Group will read one textbook paragraph every day and answer related questions. Regular practice will be conducted in Science, Social Science, English, Gujarati and Hindi to improve reading comprehension and revision.
In mathematics, students will practice subtraction involving 4- and 5-digit numbers and learn 2-digit multiplication, using examples such as 23 × 4.
Combined Plan for B & C Groups: For the B and C Groups, the phonics sounds of the English alphabet from A to M will be taught and revised during the month. Students will also begin learning the spellings of numbers 1 to 10 in English.
In Hindi, students will learn अ and आ sound words and simple sentences, helping them strengthen their reading, pronunciation and sentence-formation skills.
