Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) is a non-profit development organisation, registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 and Charitable Trust under the Bombay Charitable Trust Act 1950. The Society was founded in 2001. The society has been active in tribal, rural and urban areas in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Since its inception it has been working with communities, addressing issues related to women, children, livelihoods, human rights and environment. 

About Us

Ms. Michele Rochefort and her team received a traditional welcome upon their arrival at the Centre for Empowerment. They were greeted with an Aarti, adorned with garlands, and presented with a flower pot as a gesture of hospitality. Fr. George Miranda, Executive Director of DBDS, introduced the esteemed guests to the audience, expressing heartfelt gratitude to AXA Global Services for their unwavering support and trust over the past seven years. After the brief welcome ceremony, three lady students of tailoring classes shared their experience and achievements.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mrs. Michele Rochefort,(CEO-AXA Global Business Services) who attended as the Chief Guest. Accompanying her were her son, Mr. Dominic Bassir, and her son’s friend, Ms. Alphee Duval. The event was also attended by members of the AXA CR team, including Ms. Jai and Mr. Girish.

The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Mahesh Kumar, who set the tone for the day's events. The staff of DBDS felicitated all the distinguished guests, expressing their gratitude and appreciation for their support and presence.

Pune, 8th March 2024: International Women's Day was celebrated today with great fervour and enthusiasm by the staff and beneficiaries of Women Empowerment Project. The ladies welcomed the Chief Guest Ms Shailaja Nair (Head-Finance Operations and CR Sponsor), Guest of Honor- Ms Prashanti and Ms Fathima Amrin, Fr Ian Doulton (Rector-DBYC), Fr Dinesh Vasava (Director- Social Ministry) and Fr George Miranda (Executive Director-DBDS) by performing traditional Aarti and showering petals on them.
