Pune, June 2024: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized a Free General Check-Up and Eye Check-Up Camp for the residents of Mahatama Phule Nagar slum. This initiative, part of the 'Women Empowerment Project' supported by AXA Global Business Services, aimed to provide essential health services to the community.

Camp Details

Participants: The camp saw participation from 65 individuals, including 45 women, 12 men, and 8 children.

Medical Team: The medical team comprised esteemed doctors from D.Y. Patil Hospital:

• Dr. Omkar Katkar (MS)

• Dr. Aarti Saraf (MD Medicine)

• Dr. Mayuri Nemade (General Surgery)

• Dr. Shravani (MD Pediatrics)

• Mr. Harshdip Raut (B. Optician, ISHA Netralaya Hospital, Chinchwad Branch)

• Mr. Ganesh Kamble (Marketing Head) and his team

The medical team conducted various health assessments:

• Blood pressure and temperature checks

• Oxygen level measurements

• Diagnoses and Treatments

Participants were diagnosed with various conditions such as:

• Joint pain

• Fungal infections

• Common colds

• Calcium deficiency

• Gastric problems

• Eye problems

• Skin infections

Medications: Free medicines were distributed to those diagnosed with illnesses.

Eye Care: Four cataract patients were identified and referred for cataract surgery.
