Pune, June 2023 : The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized three health camps for 219 people under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by AXA business services. The details are as follows:

First health camp was organized on 5th June 2023 in Tadiwala Road slum. 106 patients were examined by a medical team consisting of Dr. Junaid Khan (General Physician and Paediatrician), Dr. Ashwini Pargewar (Gynaecologist and Skin) and Mrs. Meena Tembhurne (Nurse- Para Medical Staff). Sugar level and blood pressure were measured for all patients. Patients were diagnosed to be suffering from, Joint pain, Fungal Infection, Common cold, menstrual irregularities, Calcium deficiency, Gastric Problem, Skin infections and anaemia. 

Second health camp (eye check-up camp) was organized on 15th June 2023 in Khadi Machine slum.  56 (32 women, 21 men and 03 children) patients were examined Mrs. Vishakha Sangade  and Mrs. Radika Shete. Six Cataract, one Retina and two Pterygium patients were identified for Surgery. People with defective eye-sight were given spectacles at a highly subsidized price of Rs.100 to 200 only. Few patients with defective vision were also referred to H.V. Desai Hospital for further treatment. 

Third health camp (eye check-up camp) was organized on 22nd June 2023 in Durga Nagar slum in Chinchwad. 57 (44 women, 13 men) were examined by the medical team. Mrs. Vishakha Sangade and Mrs. Sakshi Bhosale examined the patients in this camp. Three Cataract, two Retina, one Pterygium and one Glaucoma patients were identified for Surgery. People with defective eye-sight were given spectacles at a highly subsidized price of Rs.100 to 200 only. Few patients with defective vision were also referred to H.V. Desai Hospital for further treatment.
