Mumbai, November 2022: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized nine Financial Literacy sessions for 281 women under the aegis of MGL Disha Project supported by Mahanagar Gas Limited. The details are as follows:

The resource persons were from the nearest post offices where these sessions were conducted. Resource Persons covered following topics in their session:

• SB Account

• Recurring deposit (RD) and Fixed Deposits

• Monthly Income Scheme(MIS)

• Senior Citizen Scheme (SCS)

• India Post Payment Bank

• Public Provident Fund (PPF)

• National Saving Certificate (NSC)

• Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP)

• Sukanya Samruddhi Yojana

• Ponzy schemes

281 people participated in these sessions and 133 opened accounts of various saving schemes. These sessions were interactive where the participants asked questions which were answered by the resource person. During the session 6 Saving Bank, 12 Sukanya Samruddhi Yojana, 31 India Post Payment Bank, 12 Public Provident Fund, 6 Recurring Deposit, 1 Pension and 60 GAIP accounts were opened.
