1393 MGL Disha Project: Distribution of Educational Material for the Slum Children
Mumbai, October 2021: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) distributed educational material like long notebooks, craft papers, creative non-toxic clay packets, etc meant for more than 600 children. The educational material was handed over to the teachers; who in-turn will distribute it to the students who attend the remedial classes every day; this venture was done under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL).
The program began with garlanding of Don Bosco’s portrait by Fr Manuel Murzello (Director-DBDS) and Miss Shamika Ranade (Coordinator-Remedial Classes). This was followed by lightning of lamp. Speaking on the occasion Fr Manuel stressed on the power of education and it’s potential to change the destiny of every child. He thanked MGL for its support to the project. Addressing the students Miss Shamika called upon the teachers to give their 100% to educate children. In his address Mr Mahesh Kumar reminded teachers to concentrate on improving the quality of teaching specially in subjects like Maths, English and Science.
