Pune, January 2022: The Don Bosco Development Society, Pune organized three Adolescent Health Awareness Sessions under the aegis of ‘Health Care and Sustainable Environment Project’ supported by AXA Business Services. 78 girls participated in this programme. The details are as follows:

First session was held on 11th January 2022 in Bermasel slum. 26 girls participated in this session. Mrs. Jagadale and Mrs. Shinde were the resource persons. Second Session was held on 12th January 2022 in Ambedkar Nagar slum. 26 girls participated in the session. Mrs. Vibhawari Kamble and Mrs. Akshada Naik were the resource persons. Third Session was held on 21st January 2022 in Mahatama Phule Nagar slum. Mrs. Rajshree Deshkhire and Mrs. Akshada Naik were the resource persons. 26 girls participated in the session. The objective of the sessions was to educate adolescent girls on personal health, hygiene and sanitation, menstrual cycle, diet and nutrition. The resource persons spoke about physical changes, psychological changes, vulnerability to reproductive health risks, reproductive health rights, contraceptives, sexually transmitted diseases, sexual abuse, drugs and substance abuse, etc.

This was followed by a question and answer session in which the participants asked questions which were answered by the resource person. After the session Face Mask and Soap were distributed to all.
