1406 DBDS-AXA Project: Health and Environmental Awareness Rally
Pune, October 2021: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) held three rallies under the aegis of COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Work Project supported by AXA Business Services.
First rally on environment issues was organized on 5th October 2021 with 28 children and second rally on the same issue was held on 20th October 2021 with 29 children. During the rally the children carried placards with slogans and interacted with the people on the way to educate them on harmful effects of plastic garbage. At the end of the program they took oath not to spread pollution, garbage and avoid to use plastic and take care of trees and environment.
Rally on creating awareness on Tuberculosis was held on 16th October 2021. More than 52 women from Indira Nagar participated in this rally. The women gathered at the school hall at 11.15 AM where they were briefed about the rally by the project staff. From there they walked along Pimpri-Chinchwad MIDC road, Morwadi Road and Indira Nagar slum. In the rally, women carried placards with slogans on tuberculosis causes, signs and symptoms, tuberculosis diagnosis, prevention and treatment. Women and girls were very excited to participate in the rally and communicated their message to residents and commuters on the way. After rally soap and mask were distributed to all participants.
