Pune, May 2024: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized three Climate Change awareness sessions for 61 people under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by AXA GBS. The details are as follows:

First session was organized on 11th May 2024 at Udyog Nagar slum for 21 children. Dr. Vikas Chothe was the resource person. 

Second session was organized on 23rd May 2024 at Tadiwala Road slum for 20 Children. Mrs. Sushma Pathre was the resource person. 

Third session was organized on 25th May 2024 at Vishrantwadi slum for 20 Children. Mrs. Ashwani Chavan was the resource person.

The objective of the workshops was to make children aware and take action for climate change adaptation measures, such as adjustments in natural and man-made systems to reduce the likely impacts of climate change. The Resource Persons covered following topics:

• Air Pollution & impact to human body 

• Land Pollution & impact to human body

• Water Pollution & impact to human body

• Sound pollution and impact to human health 

• Water conservation, Waste Management 

• Reduce, reuse and recycle 

These were interactive session where the participants asked questions which were answered by the resource person. After the sessions snacks were distributed to all.
