Pune, March 2022: The Don Bosco Development Society, Pune organized two Adolescent Health Awareness Sessions under the aegis of ‘Health Care and Sustainable Environment Project’ supported by AXA Business Services. 109 girls participated in this programme. The details are as follows:

First session was held on 3rd March 2022 for students of Geetamata English Medium High School. 68 girls participated in this session. Mrs. Sarika Kadam was the resource person.

Second Session was held on 11th March 2022 in S.B. Dhole Patil School. 41 girls participated in the session. Mrs. Ms.Shobha Jagdale and Mrs. Rekha Kharat were the resource persons. The objective of the sessions was to educate adolescent girls on personal health, hygiene and sanitation, menstrual cycle, diet and nutrition. The resource persons spoke about physical changes, psychological changes, vulnerability to reproductive health risks, reproductive health rights, contraceptives, sexually transmitted diseases, sexual abuse, drugs and substance abuse, etc. This was followed by a question and answer session in which the participants asked questions which were answered by the resource person. After the session hand wash soap and face mask were distributed to all.
