1612 DBDS-AXA Project: Income generation Training for women

Pune, November 2022: The Don Bosco Development Society organized seven Income Generation Trainings for 117 women under the aegis of “Health Care and Sustainable Environment” Project supported by AXA business services.

First Training was organized on 1st November 2022 in Durga Nagar slum on the topic of Hair Brooch Making for 12 SHG women. Mrs. Sayali Jagtap was the resource person. The participants learnt to make a variety of Hair Brooches. Resource person also took session on business development and management. She guided on marketing, costing, budgeting, pricing and branding of products

Second Training was held in Thite Wasti slum on 8th November 2022 on Spice making. 21 women participated in this session. Mrs. Sheetal Shinde was the resource person. She taught four types of spice making which included Kanda-lahsun masala, Goda masala, Mutton Masala, and Garam Masala.

Third training was held in Subhash Nagar slum on 11th November 2022 on spice making. 18 women participated in this session. Mrs. Devika Kshirsagar was the resource person. She taught the production process of multipurpose Liquid Soap, Phenyl, Harpic and Washing Powder.

Fourth training was held in Laxmi Nagar slum on 12th November 2022 on Liquid Soap making. 18 women participated in this session. Mrs. Sujata More was the resource person. She taught the production process of multipurpose Liquid Soap, Phenol, Harpic and Washing Powder.

Fifth training was held in Laxmi Nagar slum on 15th November 2022 on Liquid Soap making. 20 women participated in this session. Mrs. Shashikala Wasmane was the resource person.

Sixth training was held in Tadiwala Road slum on 16th November 2022 on spice making. 14 women participated in this session. Mrs Prajakta Kale was the resource person. She taught four types of spice making which included Kanda-lahsun masala, Goda masala, Mutton Masala, and Garam Masala.

Seventh training was held in DBDS-Chinchwad on 26th November 2022 on Entrepreneurship and Business Development. 14 women participated in this session. Mrs Anita Salvi was the resource person. The resource persons covered following topics in their training:

  • Business idea and feasibility

  • Market survey, analysis of market, competition and Start-up strategy.

  • Sales, marketing, marketing plans, sales strategy, promotion, advertisement

  • Production and quality control

  • Accounts and record management, cash flow financial management

  • Positive attitude towards business

The participants asked many questions and clarified their doubts from the resource person during the question and answer session. In the end the resource person gave information on the government schemes of taking loan and subsidy for starting a business.
