Pune, May 2022: The Don Bosco Development Society, Pune organized two Adolescent Health Awareness Sessions under the aegis of ‘Health Care and Sustainable Environment Project’ supported by AXA Business Services. 48 girls participated in this programme. The details are as follows:

First session was held on 10^th May 2022 at Ajantha Nagar slum in Chinchwad for 21 girls. Mrs. Akshada Naik (Project Coordinator) was the resource person.

Second session was held on 11^th May 2022 for 27 girl students of Mrs. Shantabai B Dhole Patil, High School in Pune. Mrs. Lina Gaikwad and Mrs. Priya Sonawane (Staff DBDS) were the resource persons.

The objective of the sessions was to educate adolescent girls on personal health, hygiene and sanitation, menstrual cycle, diet and nutrition. The resource persons spoke about physical changes, psychological changes, vulnerability to reproductive health risks, reproductive health rights, contraceptives, sexually transmitted diseases, sexual abuse, drugs and substance abuse, etc. Participants were also informed about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption. This was followed by a question and answer session in which the participants asked questions which were answered by the resource persons. After the session hand wash soap and face mask were distributed to all. After the session Face Mask, Soap were distributed to all.
