Pune, July 2023 : The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized two health camps for 130 people under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by AXA business services. The details are as follows: 

First Eye check-up camp was organized on 10th July 2023 for the residents of Dutta nagar slum in Chinchwad (Pune). 69 (49 women, 20 Men) people were examined by the medical team in this camp. Mrs. Vishakha Sangade (B. Optician - H.V. Desai hospital Hadpsar branch), Mrs. Poonam Jadhav (B. Optician - H.V. Desai hospital Sambhaji Nagar branch), examined the patients in this camp. B.P, Temperature, Oxygen level were measured for all. In this camp nine Cataract and one Retina patients were identified for Cataract Surgery. People with defective eye-sight were given spectacles at a highly subsidized price of Rs.100 to 200 only. Few patients with defective vision were also referred to H.V. Desai Hospital for further treatment. 

Second Eye check-up camp was organized on 28th July 2023 for the residents of Saibaba  nagar slum in Chinchwad (Pune). 61 (39 women, 21 Male and 1 child) people were examined by the medical team in this camp. Mrs. Vishakha Sangade (B. Optician - H.V. Desai hospital Hadpsar branch), Mrs. Poonam Jadhav (B. Optician - H.V. Desai hospital Sambhaji Nagar branch), examined the patients in this camp. B.P, Temperature, Oxygen level were measured for all. In this camp five Cataract, one Cornea and one Retina patients were identified for Cataract Surgery. People with defective eye-sight were given spectacles at a highly subsidized price of Rs.100 to 200 only. Few patients with defective vision were also referred to H.V. Desai Hospital for further treatment.
