Mumbai, November 2022: The Centre for Empowerment, Wadala (West) organized the certificate distribution ceremony for the first batch of students who successfully completed the basic course in tailoring. The course was the result of initiative taken by Centre for Empowerment, Wadala (West) under the Social Ministry mandate.

The program began by welcome address by Ms. Surekha Pednekar (Project Officer– DBDS). She shared information on various activities undertaken by DBDS in past few months.

Fr George Miranda (Executive Director-DBDS) was the Chief Guest for the ceremony. In his short address he thanked the Salesian members of the community for taking up this initiative for the poor and needy youth in the area. He congratulated the students on their success and encouraged them to have their own startups. He blessed them for a bright and successful future.

15 young women who completed the course received certificates at the hands of Fr James Nigrel ( Rector- Church of Our Lady of Dolours), Fr Borges Bonnie (Vice Rector- Church of Our Lady of Dolours) and Fr George Miranda.

The programme ended with vote of thanks by Mrs. Surekha Pednekar.
