1727 Skills Programme: Glass Painting Training for Children

Vadodara, October 2024: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Vadodara organized three Glass Painting Trainings for a batch of 12 girls and 13 boys from slums of Vadodara under the aegis of project supported by MIX FOR KIDS e.V (Germany).

Ms Manshi Yadav was the resource person. She took three sessions, whose details are as follows:

Children used various materials such as tissue paper, clay, black colour, bamboo stick, acrylic colour, brush, Favicol, and recycled bottles to create an array of decorative items. This included crafting Clay Bottles in unique styles like Flower Bottles and Clay Art Bottles. Some children also explored Lippan Art, which added traditional motifs and texture to their work on smaller-sized bottles. They painted bottles with glass colours, adding floral and natural designs with clay and paint, transforming ordinary bottles into beautiful vases. The Clay Art Bottles featured intricate designs such as peacocks, teddy bears, honey bees, and fish, demonstrating the children’s skill in combining clay and paint. Each bottle became a canvas for vibrant colours, shapes, and personal expression, showcasing the young artists' creativity.
