Pune: A Legal Literacy Workshop was organized on 23^rd June 2022 for the residents of Nagpur Chawl slum in Pune. 23 women participated in this workshop held under the aegis of corporate responsibility week of AXA Business Services.

Adv Yasmeen was the resource person. She covered following topics:

· Protection of Women’s from Domestic Violence Act 2005

· Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act – 1956

· Dowry Prohibition Act – 1961 sec 498 A

· Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of sex selection Act 1994)

· The Criminal law amendment act 2014

· Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act,2012

Adv Yasmeen also explained women’s property rights, marriage and personal laws, divorce and provision under law, maintenance, domestic violence, inheritance law, Hindu Marriage Act, Special Marriage Act etc. In the interactive session, the participants received legal advice on their personal and family issues. After the session soap and biscuit packet were distributed and snacks with tea was served to all.
