1372 Urban Slum Education Project in Vadodara
Vadodara (Gujarat), July-August 2021: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) is running 25 classes under ‘Urban Slum Education Project’ aimed at assisting marginalized and deprived children from slums of Vadodara financed by Kindermissionswerk (Aachen, Germany).
In the beginning of the new academic year the children were divided into different groups. This month teachers decide to cover following topics:
O Group:
• Teaching in Gujarati; દ (Da), સ (Sa), ર (Ra), વ (Va) and revision work.
• Match the following and find the alphabets.
• Number counting and writing and revision work
A Group:
• Teaching in Gujarati; (La) ,(Ta) ,(Ca) ,(kha), મ (Ma), વ (Kha) and simple words.
• Numbers, addition and subtraction with the help of educational games and kits.
B Group:
• Teaching in Gujarati; (I), (U) ,(O)) sound, words and sentences and revision work
• Numbers, addition and subtraction with the help of educational games and kits.
C Group:
• MCQ and short note.
• Tables from 11 to 20, addition and multiplication sums also. 20 To 30 table
• Hindi Alphabets and Sound.
First semester syllabus in Gujarati, English, Social Studies and Science. Special focus was given on cleanliness, personal hygiene and COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
