1535 DBDS-AXA Project: Financial Literacy for Women

Pune, July 2022: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) held two Financial Literacy sessions for 60 women under the aegis of Health Care and Sustainable Environment Project supported by AXA business services. The details are as follows:

First session was held on 2nd July 2022 for the residents of Saibaba Nagar slum in Chinchwad. 43 women participated in this session. Mr Nitin Bane was the resource person.

Second session was held on 26th July 2022 for the women from Darawade Mala slum in Pune. 17 women participated in this session. Ms Ujwalla Sasane was the resource person.

Resource Persons covered following topics in their session:

  • SB Account

  • Recurring deposit (RD) and Fixed Deposits

  • Monthly Income Scheme(MIS)

  • Senior Citizen Scheme (SCS)

  • Public Provident Fund (PPF)

  • National Saving Certificate (NSC)

  • Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP)

  • Sukanya Samruddhi Yojana

  • Ponzy schemes

It was an interactive session where the participants asked questions which were answered by the resource person. After the session hand wash soap were distributed to the participants.
