1570 AXA-DBDS Project: Free Health Check-up Camps for people

Pune, September 2022: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized three Health check-up camps for the people residing in the slums of Pune city and Chinchwad.

409 patients were examined by the medical team in these camps held under the aegis of ‘Health Care and Sustainable Environment Project’ project supported by AXA Business Services.

First health camp was held on 16th September 2022 at Saibaba Nagar slum in Chinchwad. 87 (67 women, 13 Male and 7 children) patients were examined by the medical team in this camp. Dr. Neeta Shirsat, Ms. Sakshi Patil (Ophthalmologist) examined the patients in this camp.. B.P, Sugar and Temperature, oxygen level were measured for all patients. 10 Cataract patients were identified for Cataract Surgery. Few patients with defective vision were also referred to H.V. Desai Hospital for further treatment. Patients were diagnosed to be suffering from Joint pain, Fungal Infection, Common cold, Calcium deficiency, Gastric Problem, Eye problem, Skin infections etc. Free medicines were given to people with illness.

Second health camp was held on 22nd September 2022 at Ramnagar slum in Pune. 135 (61 women, 40 Male and 34 children) people were examined by the doctor in this camp. Dr.Subhash Ladkat (General Physician and Paediatrician) and Ms. Sakshi Patil (Ophthalmologist) examined the patients. 20 patients were identified for Cataract Surgery. People with defective eye-sight were given spectacles at a highly subsidized cost of Rs.400 to 500 only. Few patients with defective vision were also referred to H.V. Desai Hospital for further treatment. Patients were diagnosed to be suffering from Joint pain, Fungal Infection, Common cold, Calcium deficiency, Gastric Problem, Eye problem, Skin infections etc

Third health camp was held on 24th September 2022 at Laxminagar slum in Pune. 187 patients (17 men, 69 children, and 101 women) people were examined by the doctor in this camp. Dr. Junaid Khan (General Physician and Paediatrician) examined the patients. 13 people were found to be with high sugar levels and 19 people found to be with high BP. Patients were diagnosed to be suffering from, Joint pain, Fungal Infection, Common cold, menstrual irregularities, Calcium deficiency, Gastric Problem, Skin infections and anemia.
