Pune, August 2023 : The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized three health camps for 283 people under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by AXA business services. The details are as follows:

First Free Cervical Screening check-up camp was organized on 4th August 2023 for ladies in Ram Nagar slum in Chinchwad. 39 women were examined by the medical team in this camp. Mrs Seema Kand examined the patients in this camp. B.P and Temperature, oxygen level were measured for all patients. Breast Screening- CBC & IBE & HPPVDNA-Cervical Screening test was done to 30 to 60 age group women.

 Second Free Eye check-up camp was organized on 12th August 2023 for the residents of Indira Nagar slum in Chinchwad. 75 (55 women and 20 men) people were examined by the medical team in this camp. Mrs. Vishakha Sangade (B. Optician - H.V. Desai hospital Hadpsar branch), Mrs. Poonam Jadhav (Health Assistant) examined the patients in this camp. B.P and Temperature, oxygen level were measured for all the patients.  7 Cataract, 4 Retina, 1 POD patients were identified for Surgery. People with defective eye-sight were given spectacles at a highly subsidized price of Rs.100 to 150 only. Few patients with defective vision were also referred to H.V. Desai Hospital for further treatment.

 Third free Health Check-up camp was organized on 28th August 2023 at Tadiwala road slum in Pune. 169 patients (men- 48, women - 96 and children-25) were examined by the Dr. Junaid Khan in this camp.  Patients were diagnosed to be suffering from, Joint pain, Fungal Infection, Common cold, menstrual irregularities, Calcium deficiency, Gastric Problem, Skin infections and anaemia. Blood Pressure and Sugar level test were done for all the patients. Free medicines were distributed to patients. 7 patients were found with high BP level and 11 patients were found with high sugar level. Medical advice was given to all these patients.
