1609 AXA-DBDS Project: Climate Change Awareness session
Pune, January 2024: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized three Climate Change awareness sessions for 143 people under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by AXA business services. The details are as follows:
First session was organized on 13th January 2024 at Maata Ramabai School for 61 children. Dr. Vikas Chohte was the resource person.
Second session was organized on 24th January 2024 at Tadiwala road slum for 25 ladies. Mrs. Prerana Sonawane was the resource person.
Third session was organized on 30th January 2024 at St. Andrews School for 57 children. Mr. Ramesh Gopale was the resource person.
The objective of the workshops was to make children aware and take action for climate change adaptation measures, such as adjustments in natural and man-made systems to reduce the likely impacts of climate change. The Resource Persons covered following topics:
• Air Pollution & impact to human body
• Land Pollution & impact to human body
• Water Pollution & impact to human body
• Sound pollution and impact to human health
• Water conservation, Waste Management
• Reduce, reuse and recycle
These were interactive session where the participants asked questions which were answered by the resource person. After the sessions snacks were distributed to all.
