1433 DBDS-AXA Project: Financial Literacy Sessions for Slum Women
Pune, December 2021: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized a Financial Literacy Session for 20 women in Kiwadewadi slum under the aegis of Health Care and Sustainable Environment Project supported by AXA Business Services. Mr. Vijay Barathe from Koregaon Post Office and Mr. Nagsen Chavan (Project Coordinator) were the resource persons. They covered following topics:
• Illegal financial schemes and scams
• Financial scams like Speak Asia Online, Royal Twinkle Star Club Ltd, Pearl, Pancard, Samrudha Jivan yojan, Stock guru India etd
• Insurance schemes – Important of Term Insurance and Health Insurance.
• Post Office schemes like PPF, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Post office small saving schemes.
Throughout this month the team conducted small meetings to motivate women to subscribe to various post office scheme and link them to Aadhar portel. Mr. K.S. Parkhi (PRI) Ms. Nikita Mahakal, Mr. Sunil Gorad, Sainath Mangativar and Mr. Hari Kakade from Post office assisted people in linking to Aadhar card, mobile phone link, name change & correction etc. 77 people were linked to Aadhar card.
