Pune, April 2022: The Don Bosco Development Society, Pune organized an Adolescent Health Awareness Sessions under the aegis of ‘Health Care and Sustainable Environment Project’ supported by AXA Business Services. 55 girls participated in this programme. The details are as follows:

The session was held on 9th April 2022 for students of Gyan Prabhat School. 55 girls participated in this session. Mrs. Akshada Naik (Project Coordinator) and Mrs. Sarika Kadam (DBDS-Staff) were the resource person. The objective of the sessions was to educate adolescent girls on personal health, hygiene and sanitation, menstrual cycle, diet and nutrition. The resource persons spoke about physical changes, psychological changes, vulnerability to reproductive health risks, reproductive health rights, contraceptives, sexually transmitted diseases, sexual abuse, drugs and substance abuse, etc. This was followed by a question and answer session in which the participants asked questions which were answered by the resource person.Session ended with the vote of thanks by Mrs. Pradnya Sonawane (School Principal). After the session hand wash soap and face mask were distributed to all.
