Pune, December 2024: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized three Climate Change awareness sessions for 149 students under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by AXA GBS. The details are as follows: 

First session was organized on 16th December 2024 at Nimbarkar School for 45 students. Prof Prasad Zingare was the resource person. 

Second session was organized on 23rd December 2024 at PCMC School 62 students. Prof Prasad Zingare was the resource person.  

Third session was organized on 24th December 2024 at PCMC English medium school for 42 students. Dr. Vikas Chothe was the resource person. 

The objective of this session was to make children aware and take action for climate change adaptation measures, such as adjustments in natural and man-made systems to reduce the likely impacts of climate change. The Resource Person covered following topics:

• Air Pollution & impact to human body 

• Land Pollution & impact to human body

• Water Pollution & impact to human body

• Sound pollution and impact to human health 

• Water conservation, Waste Management 

• Reduce, reuse and recycle 

It was an interactive session where the participants asked questions which were answered by the resource person. After the sessions snacks were distributed to all.
