Pune, July 2025: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad, organized a Free General Health and Eye Check-up Camp under the aegis of Women Empowerment Project supported by AXA GBS for residents of M. Phule Nagar slum in Chinchwad. A total of 63 beneficiaries (48 women, 12 men, and 3 children) were examined during the camp, conducted under the aegis of the ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by AXA Global Business Services.

The medical team included specialists from D.Y. Patil Hospital – Dr. Utkarsha P. Sawant (Gynecologist/Obstetrician), Dr. Shruti Malegaye (RMD), Dr. Abhilasha Lagad (ENT), Dr. Guruprasad Wakhare (Panchakarma), and Ms. Manda Jadhav (Staff Nurse). Eye check-ups were conducted by Dr. Darell Borse (B. Optician, H.V. Desai Hospital) along with his team.

Basic health parameters such as blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen levels were checked for all attendees. Common ailments diagnosed included joint pain, fungal infections, common cold, calcium deficiency, gastric issues, skin and eye infections. Free medicines were distributed to those in need. Four patients were identified with cataracts and referred for surgery.
