Vadodara, August 2025: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Vadodara organized an Entrepreneurship Training Session for the ladies of Beauty Care Skill and Tailoring classes under the aegis of Skill Development project supported by MIX FOR KIDS e.V (Germany). The session was organized on 26/08/2025. Ms. Shrushti Ben Patel was the Resource Person.
She explained different forms of entrepreneurship relevant to small businesses like tailoring and beauty care:
Small Business Entrepreneurs
Running local tailoring shops, beauty parlours, or offering services like stitching clothes, bridal make-up, or home-based beauty care.
These businesses mainly serve the local community and provide a stable source of income.
Scalable Entrepreneurs
Expanding tailoring or beauty care businesses into boutiques, training institutes, or franchise-based parlours.
Such entrepreneurs look for growth opportunities, branding, and sometimes external funding to expand.
Social Entrepreneurs
Using tailoring and beauty care skills to empower women, train unemployed youth, or provide affordable services in slum/tribal areas.
Focus is on both income generation and community development.
Through this session, participants learned how tailoring and beauty care skills can be turned into sustainable businesses, either on a small scale, through expansion, or by combining with social impact.
