Vadodara, November 2025 : The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Vadodara organized Tailoring Skill Training classes for young ladies in the slums of Kishanwadi. The classes are run in two batches held between 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm respectively. Each batch has 20 ladies, so a total of 40 ladies are undergoing training under the aegis of project supported by MIX FOR KIDS e.V (Germany).

A series of tailoring and garment design training sessions were organized at Kishanwadi to strengthen stitching skills and promote livelihood opportunities among adolescent girls. The programme focused on practical topics including baba suit stitching, dhoti preparation, and close blouse neck design techniques, with each session conducted through step-by-step demonstrations and hands-on practice. The trainings were facilitated by Neha Sonavne and held in two daily batches, engaging a total of 20 girls per batch. The sessions encouraged active participation, enhanced technical competence, and increased the confidence of the girls to apply these skills for self-employment or income generation in the tailoring sector.
