Pune, September 2025: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad, organized a free Breast Cancer Screening and Dental Check-up Camp on 10th September 2025 for the residents of Indira Nagar slum under the Women Empowerment Project, supported by AXA Global Business Services.
Participation and Beneficiaries
Breast Cancer Screening (Digital Mammography):
• 40 women (aged 40–75 years) underwent digital mammography.
• Reports are awaited.
Dental Check-up:
• 13 ladies, 5 children and 1 man availed dental consultations.
Total Beneficiaries: 59 individuals were examined during the camp.

All DBDS staff members were actively involved in managing the logistics and smooth execution of the camp, ensuring quality services for the beneficiaries.
The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized another Free Eye Check-up and Cataract Operation Camp on 18th September 2025 for men, women, and children residing at Private Road, Koregaon Park slum. The camp was conducted under the Women Empowerment Project supported by AXA Global Business Services.
Highlights of the Camp
• Total Beneficiaries: 81 patients (men, women, and children) underwent eye check-ups.
• Common Issues Identified: Headaches, near vision problems, and cataracts.
• Outcomes:
o 13 patients were provided with affordable spectacles.
o 4 patients were diagnosed with cataracts and recommended for surgery.
• Cataract Surgeries: The identified patients will undergo free surgeries at Bharati Vidyapeeth Hospital, which will also cover all their post-operative needs. This announcement brought great relief and joy to the community.
