Vadodara, January 2026: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Vadodara organized two Business and Entrepreneurship skill sessions for the ladies undergoing training in Tailoring and Beauty care under the aegis of Skill Development project supported by MIX FOR KIDS e.V (Germany).
On 23rd December 2025 and 21st January 2026, Madhuriben Yadav conducted entrepreneurship training sessions for the ladies undergoing skills training. She first introduced them to the course and future opportunities. She explained that the training will help them acquire useful skills to start a small business from home or nearby, enabling them to earn income, support their families, and become independent and confident. The session covered key aspects of entrepreneurship such as starting a small business, becoming self-employed, and turning skills into income. She highlighted the strong demand and low investment nature of the beauty parlour business, the essential skills required (basic services, hair cutting, threading, facials, mehndi, makeup, customer service, and time management), minimum investment of ₹3,000-₹10,000, importance of hygiene and safety, choosing suitable locations, pricing and profit strategies, and simple marketing methods like word of mouth and festival offers. She also discussed growth opportunities such as bridal makeup services, selling beauty products, training others, and expanding to a larger parlour in the future, motivating the girls with the message that skill and confidence and not big money are the keys to achieving self-employment, self-respect, and independence.
