Vadodara, February 2026: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Vadodara organized classes for more than 200 children under the aegis of Slum Children Education Project supported by Elmex Charitable Foundation, Vadodara.
The class schedule was planned in consultation with parents and children to ensure that it did not interfere with school timings. To accommodate different groups of students, the classes were conducted for two hours in two shifts between 7:30 am to 11:30 am and 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This arrangement helped more children attend the support classes and benefit from additional academic guidance.
On 24th February 2026, an educational activity on heatstroke awareness was conducted for the children. The teacher explained the symptoms of heatstroke and shared simple precautions to stay safe during the summer. Children were advised to drink plenty of water, take lemonade if they felt weak, and avoid drinking very cold water suddenly. As part of the activity, the children drew pictures of items such as umbrellas, hats, fans, handkerchiefs, and water bottles, helping them understand practical ways to protect themselves from heat.
