Pune, January 2026: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized a series of free community health camps in January 2026 under the Women Empowerment Project, supported by AXA Global Business Services, to address the healthcare needs of vulnerable populations living in urban slums of Pune.
A Free Medical Check-up and Health Screening Camp was conducted on 3rd January 2026 at Yerwada slum, Pune. The camp was led by Dr. Anilkumar Mune and his medical team, during which 93 residents were screened and medically examined. Basic health assessments were carried out, including general physical examinations and consultations, benefiting men, women, and children from the community.
Another Free Medical Check-up Camp was organized on 20th January 2026 at Deep Griha, Dhole Patil Road under the supervision of Dr. Anilkumar Mune and his team. A total of 83 patients availed themselves of medical consultations and primary health screening services. The camp helped in early identification of common health issues and provided guidance on follow-up care.
On 27th January 2026, DBDS also organized a health camp at Indira Nagar slum, Pune. The camp was conducted by Dr. Anand Mundhe and Dr. Nita Shirsat, during which 61 individuals from nearby slum settlements were examined. The focus remained on general health check-ups, early diagnosis, and awareness regarding preventive healthcare.
The camp addressed common ailments and promoted health awareness among residents, many of whom have limited access to regular medical services.
