Pune, December 2025: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized a series of free community health camps in December 2025 under the Women Empowerment Project, supported by AXA Global Business Services, to address the healthcare needs of vulnerable populations living in urban slums of Pune.
A Free Medical Check-up and Health Screening Camp was conducted on 9 December 2025 at Ram Nagar slum, Pune. The camp was led by Dr. Vaishanvi Gawhaye and her medical team, during which 104 residents were screened and medically examined. Basic health assessments were carried out, including general physical examinations and consultations, benefiting men, women, and children from the community.
Another Free Medical Check-up Camp was organized on 29 December 2025 at Khadi Machine slum, Pune, again under the supervision of Dr. Vaishanvi Gawhaye and her team. A total of 104 patients availed themselves of medical consultations and primary health screening services. The camp helped in early identification of common health issues and provided guidance on follow-up care.
On 9 December 2025, DBDS also organized a health camp at Hanuman Mandir, Tadiwala Road, Pune. The camp was conducted by Dr. Anilkumar Mune, during which 103 individuals from nearby slum settlements were examined. The focus remained on general health check-ups, early diagnosis, and awareness regarding preventive healthcare.
Further extending its outreach, a Free Community Health Camp was held on 18 December 2025 at Siddhartha Nagar, Tadiwala Road, Pune. Dr. Anilkumar Mune examined 126 patients, including men, women, and children. The camp addressed common ailments and promoted health awareness among residents, many of whom have limited access to regular medical services.
Through these four community health camps, DBDS successfully reached 437 beneficiaries in December 2025.
