Vadodara, May 2026 : The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Vadodara organized Tailoring Skill Training classes for young ladies in the slums of Kishanwadi. The classes are run in two batches held between 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm respectively. Each batch has 20 ladies, so a total of 40 ladies are undergoing training under the aegis of project supported by MIX FOR KIDS e.V (Germany).

Eight sessions of tailoring and garment making training programme was conducted for young women and adolescent girls at Kishanwadi to enhance their vocational skills and livelihood opportunities. The training focused on practical garment-making techniques, including Belt Wali Blouse, Back Princess Cut Blouse, Patiala Salwar, and Baba Suit stitching. The sessions were facilitated by an experienced trainer who guided participants through pattern drafting, fabric cutting, stitching methods, fitting techniques, and finishing processes.
A total of 40 girls participated in two batches and actively engaged in hands-on learning activities. The training methodology emphasized demonstration, supervised practice, and individual guidance to ensure that each participant developed the required technical competencies. By the end of the programme, participants were able to independently prepare and stitch different garment designs with improved accuracy and confidence. The training strengthened their tailoring skills, creativity, and understanding of garment construction, thereby enhancing their prospects for self-employment, income generation, and entrepreneurship in the tailoring and fashion sector.
