Vadodara, May 2026: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Vadodara organized two Business and Entrepreneurship skill sessions for the ladies undergoing training in Tailoring and Beauty care under the aegis of Skill Development project supported by MIX FOR KIDS e.V (Germany).
Business and Entrepreneurship Development sessions were organized for the trainees of the Tailoring and Beauty Parlour courses to prepare them for self-employment and income-generating opportunities. The training focused on identifying vocational opportunities, developing simple business plans, managing finances, setting service prices, customer acquisition, marketing, and maintaining service quality. Participants learned practical approaches to starting small businesses from home, working independently, or seeking employment in boutiques and beauty salons. Special emphasis was placed on budgeting, record-keeping, customer relations, product management, and the use of local networks and digital platforms for business promotion.
The sessions were highly relevant as many participants were nearing the completion of their vocational training and were exploring livelihood opportunities. The trainees actively shared their experiences, with several girls reporting that they had already begun earning income through tailoring orders, mehndi services, threading, makeup, and hairstyling in their communities. Their success stories demonstrated the practical application of the skills acquired and motivated other participants to pursue entrepreneurship with confidence. The training strengthened their business understanding, enhanced their self-confidence, and provided a clear pathway towards sustainable self-employment and economic empowerment.
