During August 2026, sewing and garment-making training sessions were conducted for a group of 40 girls under the guidance of Ms. Neha Sonavne. The sessions focused on developing practical tailoring skills through hands-on learning and regular practice.
The participants were trained in making different garments, including four-tucks blouses, palazzo pants, umbrella skirts and stand-patti kurtis. The training covered important aspects such as taking measurements, fabric selection, pattern preparation, cutting, stitching, fitting and finishing. Participants were encouraged to practice each technique themselves, enabling them to gradually improve their accuracy, confidence and overall sewing skills.
The sessions provided the girls with useful vocational skills that can contribute to their personal development and future livelihood opportunities. The practical nature of the training helped participants understand garment construction and encouraged creativity and self-reliance.
