Pune, August 2026: As part of the Women Empowerment Project, supported by AXA Global Business Services, the Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized two awareness sessions on mobile phone addiction and responsible digital use in August 2026. A total of 52 participants attended the sessions. The details are as follows:
During August 2026, DBDS, under the Women Empowerment Project supported by AXA Global Business Services, conducted two awareness sessions on responsible mobile phone use-at Ashraf Nagar, Kondhwa (18 August) for 26 community women and Vidya Nagar, Chinchwad (26 August) for 26 adolescent girls, benefiting 52 participants.
The sessions, facilitated by Ms. Prajakta Pendse (Clinical Psychology) and Mrs. Akshada Naik, covered the physical, psychological and social effects of excessive mobile and internet use, including impacts on concentration, emotional well-being, relationships, productivity and social interaction. Participants were encouraged to reduce unnecessary screen time, avoid mobile use before bedtime, exercise regularly and spend quality time with family and the community.
The sessions were interactive, with participants sharing experiences and seeking guidance. Overall, the programme promoted healthier, disciplined and responsible digital habits among women and adolescent girls.
