Pune, May 2026: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized a free community health camp for 85 individuals under the Women Empowerment Project, supported by AXA Global Business Services, to address the healthcare needs of vulnerable populations living in urban slums of Pune.
A total of 85 beneficiaries (55 women, 11 men, and 19 children) availed themselves of the medical services provided during the camp. The health camp was conducted by Dr. Vaishnavi Gawhare (B.H.M.S.), who examined the patients and provided medical consultations.
As part of the check-up, vital health parameters including blood pressure, blood sugar, body temperature, and oxygen saturation levels were assessed for all participants. The medical examination revealed common health issues such as joint pain, fungal infections, common cold, calcium deficiency, gastric disorders, eye-related problems, and skin infections.
Free medicines were distributed to patients based on their diagnoses, ensuring immediate access to basic healthcare support. The camp received an encouraging response from the community and contributed to improving health awareness and access to medical services among vulnerable families.
