Vadodara, May 2026: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Vadodara organized Beauty Care Skill Training for 42 girls from slums of Vadodara under the aegis of Skill Development project supported by MIX FOR KIDS e.V (Germany). The training is given in two batches. The morning batch consists of 20 girls trained by Ms Maheshwari Lohar and afternoon batch consist of 22 girls trained by Ms Roshniben Makwana. As part of the women’s skill development project, a series of beauty and grooming training sessions were conducted for adolescent girls and young women at Shikota Nagar and Kishanwadi. The training covered practical and market-oriented topics including Hair Highlighting, Nail Art, Different Saree Draping Patterns, and Bridal Mehndi and Makeup. The sessions were facilitated by experienced trainers using a hands-on learning approach that combined demonstrations, guided practice, and individual mentoring.
A total of 42 girls participated regularly across both locations, actively engaging in skill-building exercises and practical assignments. The training enhanced participants’ technical knowledge, creativity, and confidence in beauty and personal grooming services. Through repeated practice and exposure to professional techniques, the girls developed competencies that can support self-employment, income generation, and entrepreneurship opportunities in the beauty and wellness sector. The initiative also encouraged self-confidence, personal presentation skills, and economic empowerment among the participants, contributing to their overall personal and professional development.
